Nepal Pilgris Tour

Kathmandu

Nepal's capital is situated in a valley full of historic sites, ancient temples and shrines, golden pagodas and fascinating villages. Hotels, bars and restaurants cater to all budgets. Shops offer handicrafts, carpets and Nepali paper prints. Bus services, taxis and bicycles open up the city. Trek to see the Monkey Temple, the valley's oldest and most sacred shrine. Mingle with locals and animals amid Durbar Square's monuments and temples, or join mountain trekkers in the bustling Thamel District.Archaeological excavations in parts of Kathmandu have found evidence of ancient civilizations. The oldest of these findings is a statue, found in Maligaon, that was dated at 185 AD.The excavation of Dhando Chaitya uncovered a brick with an inscription in Brahmi script. Archaeologists believe it is two thousand years old.[7] Stone inscriptions are a ubiquitous element at heritage sites and are key sources for the history of Nepal.

Pokhara

Pokhara ticks all the right boxes, with spectacular scenery, adventure activities, and accommodation and food choices galore. Whether you’ve returned from a three-week trek or endured a bus trip from hell, Lakeside Pokhara is the perfect place to recharge your batteries. The scene is a chilled-out version of Thamel, stretching along the shore of a tranquil lake with bobbing paddle boats. From the lake, and possibly even from your hotel bed, you can enjoy a clear view of the snow-capped mountains, just twenty or so kilometres away.

Janakpur

Janaki Mandir is the major landmark and the centre of attraction, heart of Janakpur city. It is a 19th century temple dedicated to the great daughter of the holy land of Mithila Kingdom and her consert Lord Ram. The temple was built by the Queen of Tikamgadh, now in MadhyaPradesh, India, as an reverence towards the birth place of Goddess Sita, and the temple is a great example of sikh and mougal architecture.

Muktinath

Muktinath-Chumig Gyatsa is one of the most important pilgrimage sites of Nepal for both Buddhists and Hindus. It is a great example to our world of a sacred place shared in harmony by devotees of two world religions. The traditional caretakers of the sacred place are the nuns of the lineage of Lama Wangyal. Their international support is channeled via the MFI. For more information, please see our donation page. For other nunneries nearby, please see here. This page includes a link to a very nice movie about Muktinath-Chumig Gyatsa and the nuns of the lineage of Shangpa Rinpoche
